Individuals and households residing in Los Angeles County of that have a business in Los Angeles County will have until October 15th to file returns or pay taxes. Taxpayers have until October 15, 2025 to file individual, corporate, partnership, estate and trust returns. Estimated taxes and any other income tax will not be subject to penalties as long as paid by October 15, 2025.
California Income and Franchise Tax
The California income tax and franchise tax is also deferred until October 15, 2025. PTE elective payments due on March 15 and June 15 are also deferred until October 15, 2025. The deferral includes the filing of returns. These deferrals apply to individuals and businesses that reside in Los Angeles County.
California Sales Tax
Los Angeles County based businesses have until April 30, 2025 to file returns that are due on January 31, 2025.
Los Angeles County Property Tax
The county assessor has extended property tax payments and business personal property statements without penalties and interest until April 1, 2026 for zip codes in the Pacific Palisades and Alta Dena areas.
California Payroll Tax
The Employment Development Department (EDD) will provide a 60-day extension to file and pay payroll taxes without penalty and interest upon a written request.

The Los Angeles Office of Finance has provided an extension of the annual Los Angeles Business Tax renewal to all business located in zip codes 90402, 90272, 90049. This moves the due date from February 28 to April 14, 2025. Businesses outside of these zip codes affected by the fires may submit a written request for the extension.
